KENYA PHOTOGRAPHY SAFARI ITINERARY

12 nights Wildlife photography in Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Baringo and Lake Bogoria

This tour offers you the opportunity to witness and photograph one of nature’s true spectacles, the annual wildebeest migration in Kenya’s premier wildlife reserve - The Maasai Mara. This safari is timed to coincide with the peak of the migration, and as nature will prove that the migration period is the period where cats are plenty as they join the wildebeest in staging this incredible event.

Day 1
Location: Nairobi
Accommodation: Fairview Hotel or equivalent
Day 1 Overview: Arrival and Transfer to Nairobi. Overnight at Fairview Hotel or equivalent

Day 2
Location: Maasai Mara
Accommodation: To be determined with guests
Day 2 Overview: After breakfast, you will be briefed on your tour and the safari will start and it takes us through the spectacular Rift Valley and finally the Masai Mara National Park. We will be staying in Mid-luxury tented camp in the prime location of the park where wildlife is plenty. We will just arrive in time for lunch and after a short rest we will start our game drive to the Musiara plains. Some of the wildlife we expect to see include; Lions, Cheetah, Leopards, Elephants, Masai Giraffe, Spotted Hyena, Silver-backed Jackal, Hippopotamus, Nile crocodiles and various species of Herbivores.

Day 3 Overview: Full day Masai Mara National Reserve

Day 4
Location: Maasai Mara
Accommodation: To be determined with guests
Day 4 Overview: Full day Masai Mara National Reserve

Day 5
Location: Maasai Mara
Accommodation: To be determined with guests
Day 5 Overview: Full day Masai Mara National Reserve

Day 6
Location: Maasai Mara

Day 6 Overview: Full day Masai Mara National Reserve

Day 7
Location: Nakuru National Park
Accommodation: To be determined with guests
Day 7 Overview: After a short game drive in the morning, we will be back in the camp for breakfast and depart for Lake Nakuru National Park. We will be able to arrive at Lake Nakuru national park just in time for lunch and after a short rest, we proceed for a game drive. In Lake Nakuru we will have the possibility seeing both the Black and White Rhino, Buffaloes, Leopard and Rothschild’s (Baringo) giraffe and the magnificent flamingoes.

Day 8
Location: Lake Nakuru National Park
Accommodation: To be determined with guests
Day 8 Overview: Full day Lake Nakuru National Park

Day 9
Location: Lake Baringo
Accommodation: To be determined with guests
Day 9 Overview: We leave early in the morning for a game drive. By 9am you will return to the hotel for breakfast and checkout for Lake Baringo. On arrival, you will have lunch and spent the rest of the day, either photographic birds at the hotel compound or having cool swim in the pool. We go easy on this day, so that you can have a little rest.

Day 10
Location: Lake Baringo
Accommodation: To be determined with guests
Day 10 Overview: This day we will depart very early in the morning for a 4 hours boat excursion for bird’s photography. In the afternoon we can go for nocturnal bird’s photography and visit some popular viewpoints for panoramic and scenic photography and later enjoy a silent sundowner.

Day 11
Location: Lake Baringo
Accommodation: To be determined with guests
Day 11 Overview: Leave early in the morning, just in time for sunrise and enjoy a boat excursion that will take you to Molo River, the inlet of Lake Baringo. This will provide you with a chance to photograph more aquatic birds.
After Lunch on the same day we will leave for an evening game drive to Lake Bogoria National Reserve. This alkaline lake is located 40km from Lake Baringo, and known for its huge flamingoes concentration which sometime goes over 2million at any one time. The Lake is also known as a good spot to see the Greater-Kudu and its high shooting geysers. Overnight at Lake Baringo.

Day 12
Location: Nairobi
Accommodation: Nairobi
Day 12 Overview: After another early morning boat ride, we will have Lunch at Lake Baringo and depart to Nairobi for a flight back home.

A three night extension is available on this tour and this will take you to Samburu National Reserve.
